PARK SUCCESS STORIES
NewsKryptokloud is now moving into grow-on space in the Alchemy Building.
Kryptokloud has grown from two people who moved in to the Boole Technology Centre in 2017 to more than 20, following an investment from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, and is now moving into grow-on space in the Alchemy Building.
In 2020 they announced the opening of their brand new Security Operations Centre (SOC) in the BTC, and continued to trade strongly during lockdown. Fast forward to a year ago and with new products developed during the pandemic, their rapid growth meant they needed more capacity to accommodate their increased number of cyber analysts operating 24/7/365.
In October this year Kryptocloud will receive the keys to its new premises in the latest Lincoln Science and Innovation Park building and begin unlocking its next chapter. Not only does the new space include a 24-position SOC, rest area, conference room, and dedicated incident response capability room, but they’ve also squeezed in space for a Peloton bike room and showers!
Meanwhile down the corridor, innovative biotech company Arden Biotechnology has gone from one employee in 2017 to 18 employees and counting.
Arden is undertaking new research into eliminating the use of antibiotics and reducing wastage in the food chain and have recently been awarded a grant to improve poultry welfare and reduce food waste and is now doubling its capacity.
This £500k Innovate UK grant, as part of an industrial consortium working with Avara Foods, one of the UK’s largest poultry producers, is supporting Arden to develop a natural solution to a disease that results in paralysis and painful bone deformities in poultry. The wider aim of the project is to improve welfare and reduce feed usage and food waste, resulting in fewer carbon emissions.
According to the WHO, feed accounts for 78% of greenhouse gases in poultry production. In reducing the amount of pathogenic bacteria, birds are able to gain weight in a more efficient manner. This means that less feed is consumed to achieve target weights
Dr Joseph Brown, Research Director at Arden Biotechnology, said: “So the natural solution we are researching would support the agricultural transition to a net zero carbon emission industry through reduced feed usage, reduced food waste and improved welfare.”
