LEP Business Live Attracts Over 300 to Showground
EventsMore than 300 delegates and exhibitors attended LEP Business Live on Friday 24th October, which featured the Business Live exhibition and the annual summit of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
The event took place at the EPIC Centre, Lincolnshire Showground, where the guest speaker was Simon Calver, former CEO of LoveFilm. Simon gave his audience some insights into mobile technology and how Greater Lincolnshire can innovate for success.
The popular event featured a business exhibition with zones including property, finance, energy, digital, tourism and skills, speakers, networking, lunch and a chance to put questions to the LEP board.
It also provided an opportunity for the Greater Lincolnshire LEP to launch its Health and Care Sector Plan for the region.
LEP Business Live was hosted by Ursula Lidbetter MBE, Chair of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, and Steven Fletcher, Publisher of the Lincolnshire Echo.
“There was such a positive feeling at LEP Business Live on Friday and I’m sure everyone who came along took something useful from the event,” said Ruth Carver, LEP Director.
“It was a great opportunity for the LEP to tell business leaders about its recent successes and for visitors to the event to put questions to us about our plans for the future.”
Allison Lawrence, Head of Careers, Employability and Enterprise at Bishop Grosseteste University, which exhibited at the event, said: “It was exceptionally useful and a fantastic opportunity to network.
“As exhibitors we gained a lot of new contacts and were able to get support for some of the events we’re involved with – for example, our Year 9 Careers Convention on 9th December.
“The presentations were really informative too, with a good range from the inspirational speaker Simon Calver to the local perspective and an update on LEP strategy from Ursula Lidbetter.”
