The LEP’s latest board – the Innovation Council – is now hitting its stride and its members have met three times in the past year.

Under the chairmanship of Professor Mary Stuart, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lincoln, the Innovation Council aims to drive innovation across Greater Lincolnshire, increase business start-ups, growth and productivity and improve economic prosperity.

It seeks to bring the right people together, create and commercialise ideas for new products and services and make the most of the resources and expertise at the University of Lincoln.

The Greater Lincolnshire economy is primarily made up of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and many of these are relying on 20th-century processes and working methods while the rest of the world moves on into the 21st.

The Innovation Council aims to help these businesses to adapt, be creative and use new technologies in order to prosper rather than be left behind.

If you would like to find out more about the Innovation Council contact the administrator Vicky Addison by emailing vaddison@lincoln.ac.uk. An area on our new website dedicated to this will also be available in the New Year.
