The Greater Lincolnshire Manufacturing Conference brought together businesses from across the manufacturing sector.
The Greater Lincolnshire Manufacturing Conference at the University of Lincoln on Friday 15th September brought together leaders and local businesses from across the manufacturing sector.
The conference, hosted by Business Lincolnshire and Natwest, focused on the future of manufacturing, innovation across the sector, Brexit implications and how to improve manufacturing capacity in Greater Lincolnshire.
Over 100 businesses from across Greater Lincolnshire attended the conference, which featured high-profile guest speakers such as Phil Hatherley from Siemens, Eva Fryc from Engineering UK and Maria Machancoses from the Midlands Engine highlighting the potential of manufacturing in Lincolnshire.
LEP Board Director Councillor Colin Davie, who opened the conference with an overview of the current state of manufacturing in the county, said: “It was great to see so many of Greater Lincolnshire’s manufacturing businesses coming together to celebrate such an important sector for our county and to discuss ways to develop the sector in the coming years.”
Delegates were treated to demonstrations of augmented reality and tours of Siemens' facility at Teal Park and the Energy from Waste FCC Environment site.
Garry Wilkinson, Manufacturing Sector Specialist for Natwest Bank Plc, said: “It was a fantastic day and showed how much Lincolnshire has to offer in terms of manufacturing.”
