EU Transition
The transition period has ended and new rules are now in place.
As of 1 January 2021, the EU transition period ended and the UK left the EU customs union and single market, and now has a zero tariffs-zero quotas relationship with the EU as an independent trading nation.
Documents covering actions that businesses must take to ensure they are compliant with the new rules are now in force. Brexit Transition Changes - Actions for Businesses provides an overview of key actions as well as supporting guidance, helpline numbers and FAQs. Click here for Sector Specific Brexit Transition Actions.
Businesses should visit gov.uk/transition and use the checker tool to identify relevant actions. A list of government helplines for businesses has also been published, organised by theme and key actions. To view this, click here. Businesses in England should call 0800 998 1098.
A number of resources provided by the Government are readily available:

- BEIS Webinars across a range of topics will be available on gov.uk in January 2021. They will provide specific advice on how businesses can ensure they comply with the new rules.
