Funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, The National Centre for Food Manufacturing (NCFM) is Offering one day training courses in Holbeach.

Delegates on these courses will gain:

  • Understanding of main components of robotic systems and automation technologies used in food processing and packaging
  • Understanding of how to optimise food processing and packaging efficiency using robotics and automation
  • Confidence to progress solutions within your business
  • The ability to fault find within a program, in both a simulated and real environment

The training is appropriate for:

  • Engineering team members within agri-food
  • Engineers from outside F&D interested in F&D applications
  • Those with a knowledge of engineering wishing to learn about control and automation
  • Food industry managers wishing to learn about automation solutions
  • Those considering a levy funded engineering degree apprenticeship wishing to have a taste of the level and content.

An Introduction to Robotics on September 16th or 19th

This module offers a foundational overview of robotics, focusing on virtual learning and interactive activities to engage learners in the basics of robotic technology. This course emphasises the growing role of robots and automation in the food industry, illustrating how these advancements enhance efficiency, safety, and consistency in food production and distribution. The participants will be introduced to key concepts such as robotic mechanics, programming, and sensor integration, while examining real-world applications like automated packaging, sorting, and weighing processes within the food sector. Through a blend of theoretical instruction and virtual simulations, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how robotics is revolutionising the food industry.

Advanced Automation and Control on September 17th or 20th

This module delves into the sophisticated aspects of automation technology, emphasising hands-on demonstrations and practical applications to replicate real-world processing activities. This course covers advanced robotics and automation systems, focusing on complex programming techniques, control algorithms, and integration of sensors and actuators. Participants will engage in practical demonstrations to mimic industrial processes, enhancing their understanding of automated systems in action. It includes programming exercises to develop and refine control strategies, ensuring that learners acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for mastering advanced automation and control in various industries.
