On 27th April the Lincoln Institute of Agrifood Technology and Barclays Eagle Labs welcomed the Rt Hon Mark Spencer MP, Minister of State for Food, Farming and Fisheries to the Riseholme campus to learn about the agri-tech research being conducted alongside industry partners. 

The visit saw the Minister visiting businesses and research teams involved in cutting-edge soft-fruit analytics in Barclays Eagle Lab and a robotics demonstration in the robotic strawberry farm at Riseholme. 

Mark also discussed soils and carbon management with the LIAT team, who deliver BASIS qualifications on these topics to over 30% of all the agronomists in the UK.
